Orissa State Karate-do Association (OSKA) has suspended its founding member J S Kalaimani for conducting an unrecognised state level karate championship at Baripada last month.
According to press release from OSKA, the decision to suspend Sensei Kalaimani, the head of Ryushin-Kan style of karate in India, was taken at the executive meeting held in Bhubaneswar recently.
The release also said that the 22nd State Karate Championship would be staged at Puri from June 15 to 17. Around 500 karatekas from 28 districts are expected participate in the three-day meet.
Affiliated district units of OSKA have been told to conduct respective district competition and send names of their competitors for the state championship by June 1.
